Who We Are

Since 1994, TextWise has been designing, building and implementing complex content-driven technology solutions that have one unifying objective: To understand the meaning of text for the purpose of delivering useful, scalable and relevant semantic applications.

TextWise developed some of the seminal work in text extraction and was one of the early developers of natural language processing (NLP) search engine technology, fueled by U.S. intelligence agencies' requirements for "smart" communications.

TextWise is a founding member of the Semantic Exchange, a site dedicated to providing news, research and insight on semantics. The site will launch Q3 2008.

Where We’ve Been

We started beta testing our contextual merchandising service in 2006 to place MILLIONS of online product and auction ads on THOUSANDS of web sites. This is truly scalable technology. Ad placement is done contextually using our TSV technology by matching ads with relevant content.

TSV provides a new and unique way of analyzing and representing semantic information in text. By using TSV, any chunk of text can be represented by a Semantic Signature®. Semantic Signatures® are like DNA for text, but instead of genetic information, it’s semantic information. Sounds simple right? It’s not. TSV features extensive linguistic and mathematical analyses, providing complex and powerful algorithms to analyze text.
